Holidays
2009

Easter was a beautiful day. Larry & Anna had us over for lunch after church services and then the kids hunted eggs in the back yard.
Fourth of July we had Mark & Eli and our friend, Berk Reagan with his grandkids, Gracelyn & Dante, join us for a meal and fireworks.  Papa smoked a brisket and Berk brought the fireworks. The kids had a great time riding the go cart and then after dark, setting off the fireworks.  This was the first time we've had Eli since his accident. He was still walking with a walker and couldn't really run around lighting fireworks, so Vanessa (who came in time for the fireworks) helped him light a few from the porch.
Halloween was a very rainy night. We went to our old house on Angela Drive for a Halloween/Bonfire/Chile Cook-Off party where we played games and ate hot dogs and a wide variety of chile. The kids Trick or Treated in our old neighborhood and brought home a load of candy.
Thanksgiving was at Anna & Larry's house, which has become our traditional place to have Thanksgiving. Eli was with us this year, which was great. So was George & Sue Custer, friends of the family, and all of Larry's family. We had smoked turkey made by Larry and wonderful dishes provided by everyone else. As usual we ate way too much, but it is so nice to celebrate this holiday with family & friends.
On Christmas Eve we opened presents at our house. Larry's mom, Flo and Mark & Eli were with us. We had a great time snacking and opening presents. Cera & Mark played a tune on their instruments for us.  On Christmas Day, we went to Larry's niece's house. This was Kevin & Erin's first Christmas, so they wanted us all to celebrate at their house.  We had another wonderful meal and then Larry's family opened their presents from each other.

Easter was at our house this year.  Larry & Anna with their kids came for lunch then hunted for eggs in the front yard.  It was such a beautiful day. No wind and a lot of sunshine. I just wish all my grandchildren could have been with us.
